FAQ: Why can’t you tell me exactly when my pet will be done?

FAQ

Safe recovery is always the priority. Pets are never discharged until they’re fully awake and ready to go home.

One of the hardest parts of scheduling advanced imaging is not knowing exactly when your pet will be finished. Unlike a standard vet appointment with a clear start and end, imaging involves many moving parts—and those parts can shift throughout the day.

Why exact end times aren’t possible

Imaging schedules are flexible by design. Scan order isn’t pre-set because each patient’s needs differ. Factors such as the length of anesthesia, the complexity of a case, or the arrival of an emergency can all affect timing. This flexibility allows us to give each patient the careful attention they deserve.

What happens behind the scenes

After morning or afternoon rounds, our radiologist and clinical team determine the most efficient and safe way to proceed with all cases. Technical requirements, patient preparation, and real-time developments influence the flow of the day.

What you can count on

While we can’t promise an exact end time, we can promise:

  • Timely communication. You’ll get a call as soon as your pet is out of imaging and in recovery.

  • Updates if things change. If delays arise, our team will let you know.

  • Safe discharge. Pets are never sent home until they are fully awake, stable, and ready.

Built for safety and peace of mind

The focus of this system isn’t speed—it’s safe anesthesia, accurate imaging, and clear communication. That way, you can trust your pet is in good hands, even if the timing is unpredictable.
