A Note About Additional Services

Our bundle pricing covers the standard diagnostic workup for each modality. In some cases, initial imaging may be inconclusive and our radiologist may recommend an additional scan site or a different imaging tool to reach a definitive answer. If that happens, we’ll explain why before proceeding — and additional fees will always be discussed with you and your vet upfront. We’d rather be honest than leave you guessing.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pricing

Everything you need to know before your pet’s appointment.

Yes. Sage Veterinary Imaging works closely with your family veterinarian as part of our circle-of-care approach. Your vet submits a referral so our radiologists have the clinical context to provide the most accurate diagnosis. If you don’t have a vet, we can help you find one.
For MRI and most CT procedures, the listed price includes anesthesia, IV catheter and fluids, pre-medications, continuous monitoring, the imaging study itself, and a board-certified radiologist’s interpretation and consultation with your vet. In some cases, if initial imaging is inconclusive, our radiologist may recommend an additional scan area or a different modality to get a definitive answer. We’ll always discuss any additional costs with you and your vet before proceeding.
Not always. While MRI is the gold standard for soft tissue and neurological conditions, many cases can be diagnosed with a less expensive ultrasound or CT scan. Our board-certified radiologists review every referral and will recommend the most appropriate — and often the least expensive — imaging tool for your pet’s specific situation. Give us a call and we’ll help you understand your options.
A STAT fee applies when you need a same-day appointment and our schedule is fully booked. It allows us to accommodate urgent cases outside of our normal booking flow. If you have a true emergency, please call us directly — we do our best to get your pet in quickly.
If your pet needs more than one region scanned (e.g., brain and spine), an additional site scan fee applies. This covers the extra imaging time, anesthesia duration, and radiologist analysis for the second area. Your vet and our team will discuss the best approach for your pet’s needs.
We accept CareCredit, Scratchpay, and most major credit cards. Payment is due at the time of service. We recommend contacting our team before your appointment to discuss payment options.
We’re a dedicated diagnostic imaging center — diagnostics are our entire focus. We don’t carry the overhead of a full-service or emergency hospital, which allows us to invest in top-tier equipment (3T MRI, 128-slice CT) while keeping prices accessible. You get human-quality imaging without the hospital markup.
Medicine isn’t always black and white. Occasionally, initial imaging may show something that needs further investigation with an additional scan site or a different imaging modality. If that happens, our radiologist will explain exactly what they found, why additional imaging would help, and what it will cost — before anything is done. You and your vet are always part of that decision.
